Pamper for a Purpose is a grassroots effort to raise awareness and funds to stop genocide in Darfur and the Congo.
Professional practitioners and local businesses donate services and auction items to help create an environment where women and girls are safe. This year’s event will take place at your location!
I am planning an in Salon Pamper for a Purpose, August 10th, from 10:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. and inviting any and all businesses to do the same. Give services or profits for one day toward supporting Darfuris and DR Congo!
How did it all start?
It all began three years ago when then 12-year old Anna Wetherell learned about genocides that were happening right now; she came straight home and said to her mother, “We have to do something.”
As a Lake Oswego hairdresser, Denise began donating a day’s earnings to the cause once a month, while her daughter contributed by crafting and selling handmade silk flower hair accessories. They created a Facebook page for promotion and sent monthly checks until a network of friends decided to come together for one day in the park, donating services such as massage, reflexology, haircuts and more. It took off like wild fire and had a life of its own.
How can you help? As a local business, anonymous donor, or honor a loved one, you can pick a day and offer your services with profit donated to Jewish World Watch on behalf of Pamper for a Purpose.
We are better together!
